„Beyond the Pulse“ is a visceral journey where the traditional roles of bass and drums are dismantled and reconstructed into something entirely new. Both instruments, typically seen as the backbone for others, step into the spotlight as lead storytellers, creating a dynamic dialogue that shifts between tension, release, and pure improvisational freedom. This duo performance blends experimental jazz, avant-garde techniques, and spontaneous interplay, crafting a soundscape where rhythm transcends structure.
Through intricate, unpredictable patterns and textured sound, the performance explores the very limits of what a rhythm section can express when untethered from conventional roles. This is a raw, boundary-pushing experience, inviting listeners into a sonic space that is as cerebral as it is primal.

The veteran Jesper Zeuthen is one the most distinct and uncompromising saxophonists on the Danish jazz scene. A saxophonist with a unique tone, always on the search for at personal expression in music. Jesper Zeuthen emerged as a musician in the end of the 60’s, and has first and foremost been a part of the more experimental part of the jazz spectrum, working with musicians such as Don Cherry, John Tchicai, Peter Kowald, Marilyn Mazur and Hamid Drake. In his later years he has worked with wide array of younger musicians, for whom his deeply personal approach to music has been a sought after quality.
