The present core of Red Mass is comprised of Roy Vucino and Hannah Lewis. Red Mass is a gathering of artists, musicians and agent provocateurs from around the globe to explore new soundscapes. Its goal is to create punk music and art, in various mediums while incorporating techniques of automatic creation, chaos magic and liberation through art.
Red Mass serves you: A Hopeless Noise
(LP via Numavi Records / Mothland Records)
The album tells the Mass’ modern day tale of Don Quixote. The group worked in numerous punk sub genres and picked different artists to bring each song to life including members of the Black Lips, Duchess Says, Human Eye, Fly Pan Am & Godspeedyoublackemperor as well as Mac DeMarco, Rick Froberg (Hot Snakes,Drive Like Jehu), Hugo Mudie (The Sainte Catherines), producer/musician Martin Bisi, Jered Gummere (the Ponys), King Khan and Mike Watt.
„Montreal’s Red Mass are a mercurial lot. Psych punk with a flair for arty drama. Red Mass came off like a Brian Jonestown Massacre fuelled by speed, The Sonics, MC5 and the Damned instead of the Velvets, Syd Barrett and narcotics.“

Red Gaze poise post anarcho hardcore punk of the early 1980s, are more CRISIS than THE CURE, more INSTITUTE than INTERPOL. Red Gaze EP – a mini tape album – is purist punk aesthetic, tumbling with its lyrical abstractness in dialectic utopias, in political privacy.
„For whatever reason, when I listen to bands like Vienna anarcho punks RED GAZE I’m inspired to punch a fucking hole in the bubble and watch all the Targets get sucked into void. Music like this keeps me going .. to encounter the vast wasteland of ignorance most of the world is steeped in.“
