The first edition of this new, genre-fluid but always dance-focused party night will look to explore different paths of cutting-edge electronic music, combining a live-show by Vienna’s not-so-hidden gem ‚überraschungsstaat‘ with an array of dj sets by local legends Lucia Kagramanyan (NTS Radio, Radio Alhara) and Ephemer (Fractal Nights, Millenial Puzzled), as well as new kids on the block DJ Hyper and DJ No Show.

Expect UK bass, rave music, trance, latin-core, techno, house, jungle, ghetto-tech, deconstructed club music and maybe even some italo-disco.

überraschungsstaat is the enigmatic solo project of singer-songwriter, producer and bon vivant Niklas B. Being part of the dream pop band Futura and scrutinizing a sheer amount of genres in productions and compositions, ranging from trap to E-Musik, eventually led to the uncompromising output of demos, cover songs and postmodern musical wanderings under the moniker überraschungsstaat. The sum of the collection of songs is difficult to pin down, yet its parts and beyonds communicate intimacy, profound insights in music histories, the everyday and immediacy. One might look at the soundcloud page of überraschungsstaat and think he is just fooling around. Which he might be. However, ultimately überraschungsstaat‘s pop sensibilities and antipathy to hegemonic marketing strategies makes purists and posers alike look foolish.
