Lukács Márton Örs is a Hungarian pianist/keyboardist, composer and music producer from Miercurea Ciuc, Romania, currently based in Budapest.
He studied jazz composition at the Liszt Academy of Music, graduating in 2023, and now now creates music in a wide range of genres, jazz, contemporary classical to electronic, and more importantly in the overlaps between, bringing a unique perspective from the new generation in the jazz scene in Central Europe.
In his self-titled solo project he blurs the lines as a meeting point of his interests in jazz and improvisation with electronic music, both as a producer and performing artist, creating unique synthesized sounds, grooves and textures around piano and keyboard improvisation. He started working on his first solo album in 2021, that was released the next year as “Morph”. After two singles, his latest album „Canvas“ was released in November 2023, that was later selected as Borlai Gergő’s recommendation as the Hungarian Jazz Federation album of the month in March.
The live realization of the project – Live Set – is an improvisational live-act, mainly a duo with Budapest-based drummer Debreci Norbert, with looping and live FX. In this setting, improvisation and experimentation are key elements, with unique textures and soundscapes built around the solos and grooves, the songs played through meticulously orchestrated moments alternated by electronic jamming born in the moment. One of the first Live Sets was at the Bucharest Jazz Festival, followed since with mainly club concerts around Hungary and Europe.
