Behind Jogger is Florian Nikolai from Berlin. With lofi sounds and scratchy guitar riffs, his new solo project is reminiscent of Neue Deutsche Welle, New Wave and Postpunk. Ambivalence runs through all the lines and melodies of Jogger’s debut album „BRD Noir“, which he produced in his own four walls in the current bedroom pop style. The album leads to a fictional pub, which between the noise of the pub and euphoric desires gives the listener the feeling of never being alone with their doubts. „BRD Noir“ opens up a place where we are all welcome, where diversity and free thinking determine coexistence. Here we are as we are, always wanted to be and never have been.

JFAL follow a post punk style that doesnβt go for beats per minute, instead they produce songs that must be savored like licks of a lollipop (though in parts β caution! β slightly venomous). Despite the bandwidth and diversity of their songs, their formula is pretty consistent throughout: actively pushing and pulling between pop sensibilities and punk attitude since 2011, JFAL are a dab hand at not only the swap of instruments, but first and foremost at timbering strong melodies, viral in their catchiness, zested with provocative and wistful lyrics. Roughly hewn, unpolished β irresistible!
