Cathedrale (FR) + Laundromat Chicks (AT)

After a small sit-down deliberation on the stairs, they decide on the name CATHEDRALE, like the
St Etienne church in Toulouse that is behind them.
A simplicity that reflects itself in the bands clean formula, jangling guitars, nervous rhythm
section and a touch of pop in the vocals. The toulousain gang deliver a music labeled
postsomething, influenced by British and American scenes, notably Wire, Parquet Courts,
Buzzcocks and even Protomartyr.
They have been touring Europe with a plethora of different groups: Thee Oh Sees, Frustration,
Rendez-Vous, Uranium Club, Useless Eaters…
Following one EP and 3 LP’s, they decided to pull up their sleeves and record their 4th album
Words/Silence in London at Haha Sound Studio. Produced by Syd Kemp, their sound bulks out
and is enriched with textual arrangements, gaining amplification and limpidity without loosing
the flare of their first 3 albums. With the 12 tracks « Words/Silence », Cathedrale assumes
their status of value in the French music scene.
